DeepByte ("we", "us") builds AI automation, infrastructure and software. We respect your privacy and collect only what we need to run this website, respond to you, and keep things secure. This page explains what we collect and why.
DeepByte operates the website at deepbyte.ca. For any privacy question or request, email hello@deepbyte.ca and we'll respond promptly.
| Messages you send us | If you message us through the site (the contact messenger) or by email, we store your name, email, company and the content of your message so we can reply and follow up. |
| Usage & device data | When you visit, our own first-party analytics records your IP address, an approximate location (city/region/country derived from the IP), device and browser type, the pages you view, the referring site, and which features you interact with. We use this for analytics, to improve the site, and to prevent abuse. |
| A local session ID | We store a random, anonymous ID in your browser's local storage to recognise a single visit's page views. It contains no personal details. Our admin area uses one strictly necessary login cookie. |
| AI features | If you use our live AI console, AI architect, or send a message, the text (and, for voice features, your audio) is processed to generate a response, see "AI & third parties" below. |
We do not sell your data, run third-party advertising trackers, or build cross-site profiles of you.
To run the website we rely on a small number of trusted service providers that process data on our behalf:
These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We send them only what's needed for the feature you're using. Please don't submit sensitive personal information to the AI features.
If you apply for a role through our website (for example, at /apply), we collect the information you submit, such as your name, email, phone, location, links you provide (LinkedIn, résumé), your experience and message, your availability, and the acknowledgements/consents you check, together with technical details like your IP address and approximate location. We use this only to review and respond to your application, communicate with you about it, and keep records of our recruitment. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.
The legal basis is taking steps at your request prior to a possible engagement, and our legitimate interest in recruiting, balanced against your rights. If we engage you as an independent contractor, we'll keep the information needed to administer that relationship under a separate written agreement. We keep applications for as long as reasonably needed to assess them and for our legitimate business records, then delete or anonymise them, and you can ask us to delete yours sooner (see "Your rights"). Submitting an application does not create any employment or contractor relationship; see our Terms.
We sometimes prepare a personalised "AI opportunity brief" presentation for a prospective client at a private link (for example, deepbyte.ca/demo/your-company). When you open one, we record basic engagement analytics to understand interest and improve our pitch: an approximate location (from your IP address), your device/browser type, when and how long you viewed it, how far through the presentation you got, and how many times it was opened. We use a random, anonymous session ID stored in your browser to avoid double-counting a single visit. If you choose to submit the "I'm interested" form on a demo, the details you provide (name, email and/or phone, and any message) are sent to us and stored as a sales enquiry so we can follow up. Demo links are unlisted and set to noindex. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in presenting our services and following up with interested prospects; you can ask us to delete this data at any time (see "Your rights").
We keep enquiry messages and leads for as long as needed to follow up and for our legitimate business records, then delete or anonymise them. Analytics events are kept to a rolling recent window. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see below).
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to our admin tools is restricted, password-protected, and rate-limited, and we apply standard security headers and least-privilege practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR and Canada under PIPEDA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@deepbyte.ca and we'll honour valid requests.
Our service providers may process data outside your country (for example, in the United States). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
This site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy as the site evolves. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and material changes will be reflected here.
